It's an extraordinary (and almost plausible) story, and we can only wish that the filmmakers had told it better ... a great cast and plenty of tension, action and gunfire, but unless you know the basic story it is rather confusing, jumpy and jumbled

Despite the similar title, this is not a remake of Sam Peckinpah's The Killer Elite. For what it's worth, this is a reasonably solid 80's-set actioner that reminds me of Who Dares Wins, only on a more globe-hopping scale. It's not going to win any awards or draw large audiences, but it passed the time. Robert DeNiro continues to flit from film to film though. I can't think of a truly great film he's made since Heat in 1995.

Good solid if unremarkable (give the cast involved) action film. It is just a bit over all the place tonally. It is based on a true story, but is a straight up action film some of the time and then a thriller at other times. There would have been a better film if they chose one type of movie and stuck with it. Robert DeNiro is wasted in a small role.
