After being forced to leave Marshall College under dubious circumstances, Indy joins forces with rebellious, young Mutt, who believes he knows the whereabouts of one of the most spectacular archeological finds in history--the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear. But, as Indy and Mutt set out for the most remote corners of Peru--a land of ancient tombs, forgotten explorers and a rumored city of gold--they quickly realize they are not alone in their search. Soviet agents are also hot on the trail of the Crystal Skull. Chief among them is icy cold, devastatingly beautiful Irina Spalko, whose elite military unit is scouring the globe for the eerie Crystal Skull, which they believe can help the Soviets dominate the world--if they can unlock its secrets. Indy and Mutt must find a way to evade the ruthless Soviets, follow an impenetrable trail of mystery, grapple with enemies and friends of questionable motives, and, above all, stop the powerful Crystal Skull from falling into the deadliest of hands.

Separated from the first three, which have a childhood cloud of nostalgia, Indiana 4 is an entertaining popcorn flick with action, adventure and a killer cast to boot. Fun as should be the staple of all summer blockbusters.

Disappointed with the movie. The ending is what really let it down for me, damn you Lucas! It was going well up to then! Indie also seemed to just be walking through the motions, script not great either. Ah well.

I'm still surprised how much I enjoyed this film. This bears little resemblence to the disaster many predicted. Instead, its just good old fashioned ridiculous (emphasis on the ridiculous) entertainment. Yeah, some of the CGI is overblown, but most of the time it is first rate old fashioned fun, more than worthy of the Indy tag. The best franchise return in quite some time.

I was looking forward to this so much.It doesn't have a patch on any of the 1st 3. Theres no sense of danger for the main characters.A big,big letdown!!!

I must say this was a bit of a let done, poor performances from Ford and Shia LaBeouf with an ending that was a little out there. That being said it is a bit of fun with plenty of action just don't expect anything near as good as its predecessors.

"It's not the years, it's the mileage". It MADE me a child again. It has all the same pro's and con's as the original trilogy. Saw it at a midnight screening. One of the best cinema experiences I've ever had. It's the second best film in the series. If you don't know what the quote at the beginning means, you won't like the film, you haven't been sweating for it and so you don't care. Although I hated the bit where it turned out Sean Connery was Indy's son. So confusing.
