Meh. What was the point in making this?? There were a few moments that were enjoyable, but all over, no no no, Ben Stillers character is unlikable, the plot is forgettable. Extra star for the witty ending.

I'd have avoided this if I'd known in advance it was by Noah Baumbach and I regret not walking out. The whole style of humour didn't work for me at all, I liked this even less than The Squid and the Whale. I'm not much of a fan of Stiller either, he's at his best when he's playing an unsympathetic character like the villain in Dodgeball but I suppose since his character wasn't supposed to be likable he played his part well. Greta Gerwig too played her part well and you can't help but sympathize with her confused suffering as I felt much the same as I sat through this film.

Saw this during the Jameson Film Festival (I know, im only getting round to it now! lol) as it was the surprise film. Didnt know what to expect really. Came out of it with mixed feelings, of which im sure someone could tell me what i feel lol. But overall was good plot and sum out of box acting by Stiller.

Stiller gives a very strange realistic performance. Its nice to him play this type of character for a change. I saw this at the Jameson Film Festival, was very upset because i thought it was going to be something else. But it is a fine film. Its strange in places and i felt uncomfortable at times given the situations the characters were in. It wont make you feel good but it is a good movie and its well acted.

The type of film that gives indie dramedys a bad name. Just an awful film with no redeeming qualities. A bit like the characters involved.

combines the worst of every indie flick you've ever seen with bits of the best ones. Disappointing.

Stiller is excellent, but the film is challenging, at the end I didn't know if I wanted to feel for the characters or whether they just all needed a smack! Bring a date to this and pretend you are intellectual!

    The_Dystopian

A quirky little film that provides some chuckles, but Ben Stiller's Greenberg is an unsympathetic pathetic, and the aloof nature of Greenberg almost sinks the film. That said, watch out for Greta Gerwig. She's gonna be big!
