Walt Kowalski, an iron-willed veteran living in a changing world, who is forced by his immigrant neighbors to confront his own long-held prejudices. The people he once called his neighbors have all moved or passed away, replaced by Hmong immigrants, from Southeast Asia, he despises. Resentful of virtually everything and everyone he sees, Walt is just waiting out the rest of his life, until the night his teenage neighbor Thao tries to steal his prized '72 Gran Torino, under pressure from Hmong gang-bangers. But Walt stands in the way of both the heist and the gang, making him the reluctant hero of the neighborhood-especially to Thao's mother and older sister, Sue, who insist that Thao work for Walt as a way to make amends. Though he initially wants nothing to do with these people, Walt eventually gives in and puts the boy to work, setting into motion an unlikely friendship that will change both their lives.

Excellent! Eastwood hasn't lost his touch...funny, endearing and soulful!

What a director, very good film, pretty good acting from the legend also. Smart movie.

What a great movie. I was dubious at the start thinking that this, Eastwood's last acting role, was going to be a simple amalgamation of all the best bits of all the characters he'd played over the years. After about 30-40 minutes though I began to think differently. A simple story, realistic and moving, Gran Torino is one everyone should see this year.

    Engaging yet cliched and conservative.

Brilliant movie. A very funny film with a great performance from Clint in front of & behind the camera.

I liked it, it was a lot funnier than I expected and hit hard in the third act, but over all a cool movie experience... Except for Clare throwing popcorn at me !

Quality film. The classic bad ass moments from Clint Eastwood and great story to back him up. A must see!!

I thought for a good while what rating to give this film. It made me really consider what makes a good movie. The unknown supporting actors were pretty bad..and i know it was the first time for most of them but still...they were bad enough for it to be a distraction. Eastwood gives a great performance..a little bit dirty harry a little bit grumpy old men. It was also very well directed, it moves along at a nice pace and keeps you watching until the very end. Not the greatest film in the world but a great piece of entertainment

Brilliant movie, Eastwood proves he still has it when it comes to both acting and directing. It must be noted that this is the first movie for Ahney Her and Bee Vang and while it does show, it certainly does not take anyway anything from how great the movie is. A must see that may be Eastwood's swan song.

Despite the supporting cast being pretty horrendous, I thought this film was good. Interesting story, definitely worth seeing
