I thought this was excellent. I love hockey so this was a must see for me. Sean William Scott puts in a great performance and it's hard not to feel bad for him. I think a lot of people might go into this expecting full on slap stick comedy ala Dodgeball but this movie is far more than that. It proves Scott can act and also proves the Canadian accent is hilarious.

The job of a hockey enforcer, invisible to many non-fansand even casual fans, is definitively presented here by taking the viewer into Doug's worldand letting him do his thing

So good. I really liked this. I wasn't expecting much from Seann William Scott but he made the film. Lots of violence and humour. What more could you ask for.

Was expecting Dude Where's My American Pie kinda film, but was a lovely, almost indie dramadey. A proper underdog story about a dim man who's completely loyal to his teammates with proper heart. Is only used as muscle, not skill for his hockey team. Oddly enough, fantastic performance from Scott! Felt so strongly for this character. Charming story and weirdly, a true story... that was a proper surprise.

Loved it...Went to see it with my OH there on sat, and she loved it aswell. When I went into this film I Wasn't expecting much, like anything when I hear that Scott is the main character I kinda cringe. I am pleased to say that I was surprised. The film was extremely addictive, Scotts character was very charming and he played it very well. While I agree this film probably won't win many awards, I think this would appeal to the average joe as opposed to hollywood big-wigs...I found myself laughing (in a good way) at most of it, I rooted him, and in the end was a film about him beating the be-jesus out of pretty much everyone he came across on the ice hockey rink. Highly recommended, probably not going to suit everyone, but a solid 4 stars for originality, a great story and executed very solidly.

If you're feeling the January blues, then this year's first comedy should tickle your funny bones. Seann William Scott plays a sweet-but-dim ice hockey player who punches his way to stardom. Is ice hockey really supposed to be this violent - like an ice hockey version of Rollerball (Rollerhockey?)? Apparently so, as it's actually based on a true story - stay for the end credits for proof. The story is hit-and-miss at times, but Scott's goofy charm and comic timing helps to keep it afloat. It's not going to win any awards, but Goon is certainly worth a look.
