"Gamer" is a high-concept action thriller set in the near future, a time when mind-control technology has taken society by storm. Humans control other humans in a mass-scale, multiplayer online game. Reclusive billionaire Ken Castle has created the controversial form of entertainment, "Slayers," a hugely popular game that allows millions to act out their innermost desires and fantasies-online--in front of a global audience. Gaming has evolved into a terrifying new dimension...mind control...manipulation...people playing people! At the center is Kable, the superstar and cult hero of "Slayers," the savage, ultraviolent first person shooter game. Kable is controlled by Simon, a young gamer with rock star status who continues to defy all odds by guiding Kable to victory each week. Taken from his family, imprisoned and forced to fight against his will, the modern day gladiator must survive long enough to escape the game to free his family, regain his identity and to save mankind from Castle's ruthless technology.

    I would rather be water-boarded than waste my time watching this movie again. This was a complete waste of time. I am all for a sci-fi movie, and guns and such, but this movie had NO plot at all. TERRIBLE.

    An absolute mess. Like a cross between Death Race and The Running Man. It fails on every aspect. All the actors look like they dont really know what to make of the script and the action scenes are badly directed. Its a pity the guys from Crank missed out on an interesting opportuniy. Dreadful.

    Saw this on DVD recently...its one of the most over the top, desperatley bad made movies I have seen in a while, utter crap! I'm all for a bit of ott action from time to time, but this whole movie is an insult to the viewers intelligence. Then I saw who the direcrors were, Neveldine/Taylor, the guys responsible for the godawful crank flicks, and I wasn't suprised. Avoid at all costs. An awful over the top mess.

    Switch off the brain and this can be mildly entertaining. Butler is the saving grace, not the greatest actor but made for action films. Strong Crank presence brought in from the Directors

    I always thought Second Life was deprived. This isn't a bad movie. It flies along and the action sequences are pretty good. For a far out plot it isn't too far fetched at all.

    I was really looking forward to this one. I really like Gerard Butler and Michael C Hall and it sounded like a movie that would be right up my alley. Unfortunately I felt that it just didnt deliver and I felt quite disappointed at the end. Action scenes didnt do it for me and I thought that in general the movie was all style over substance. Pity there was potential for a better flick in this one.

    Looked better than it turned out to be. Felt trailer was abit misleading. Plot was little strange. Rent this if u can instead of going to cinema
