CHEF Will Reunite Robert Downey Jr and Jon Favreau

The two re-teaming for the indie feature.

Robert Downey Jr. is set to reteam with his ‘Iron Man’ director and co-star Jon Favreau on the latter’s ensemble comedy ‘Chef,’ reports Variety.

Scheduled to begin shooting in July, the indie feature follows a man (played by Favreau) who loses his chef job at a top Los Angeles restaurant and starts up “a food truck to reclaim his artistic promise and reclaiming his estranged family.”

As previously reported, Sofia Vergara (‘Modern Family’), John Leguizamo (‘Kick-Ass 2’) and Bobby Cannavale (‘Boardwalk Empire’) are on board for supporting roles.

Favreau, in a statement to the trade: “Setting a film in the culinary world of Los Angeles offers wonderful opportunities for a character driven comedy.”
