Cemetery Junction isn't a bad film by any stretch of the imagination, but nor does it inspire you to recommend it to others. It's what gets called "a slight" film; the performances are decent enough, there's some good scenes and the characters and situations feel authentic enough. But overall it fails to leave a lasting impression. If it's on TV some wet Sunday afternoon, it'll pass the time easily enough.

I saw this the other day and felt so empty by the whole thing that I didn't bother to come here and review it. It wasn't a bad film, the problem was the lack of cohesion. The direction was confusing, the acting was unnatural and the sets looked cheap. The humour was clever though but it felt contrived. Plus, I can't honestly believe Ricky Gervais' silly attempt to seriousness when he looks so dispirited. He knows he can be funny and that's his problem: He yells at the screen, "Look! I'm going to say a funny line next!" and then all he says loses meaning. Some clichés here and there, like Matthew Goode's character and methods. Cemetery Junction might work for people over 50.

I sorta, kinda, did enjoy this, but, I dunno, it's like it just never clicked. I know it's a rubbish description, but I'm not sure how else to say it. It's worth seeing, but it'll be just a effective on DVD as it is on the big screen!

Somewhat lacking dramedy that never really clicks together, but there are a few laughs to prevent it from being a complete waste of time.

I really enjoyed this film. Normally I don't like Ricky Gervais but with Stephen Merchant he can be very funny and with this film they certainly prove that. The acting is very good and while some may feel the story isn't relavent to today I would disagree. Definitely worth the watch.
