great film. The first 30 minutes are a bit bad but after that it just becomes an absolutely stunning piece of cinema. I hate Jackman and Kidman but I must admit they were very good. Luhrmann would be one of my favorite directors and he didn't disappoint with this great epic. Wouldn't surprise me if it got some Oscar noms, not for best film but for one of the worse but still respected ones.

Baz Lurman goes over the top once again in this includes-the-kitchen-sink epic. Lots of good moments, and probably the only film that made me want to visit Australia.

There's far too much going on for a Baz film - needs more time - from script to edtting - also, Baz works best when he is camp, something this film is missing. Kidman grates throughout... Dissapointing.
