Confessions of Isla Fisher

The former Home And Away star and hunny of Sacha Baron Cohen talks about her latest film ” Confessions of a Shopaholic

Having ploughed her furrow in the soap opera field like many an Ozzie before her (she is a Home And Away alumna), Isla Fisher, is enjoying one of the most fruitful periods of her life. A rapidly growing career, engaged to one of the most successful contemporary comedians Sacha Baron Cohen (the man behind Borat and Ali G) and a four-month-old daughter in the shape of little Olive – it is no wonder that Fisher declares herself to be “the happiest I’ve ever been in my life”.

Now the Ozzie starlet is set to hit Irish screens as Rebecca Bloomfield – in “Confessions of a Shopaholic” – a big-spending but cash-poor shopaholic who has dreams of working for her favourite fashion magazine but ironically is given a job as a columnist for a financial magazine from the same publisher. Of course, not being the perfect candidate to dole out advice on managing money, she butts heads with her good-looking but work-obsessed editor (Hugh Dancy) until, this being a romantic comedy, the sparks start flying between them.

Paul Byrne recently met with Isla to discuss this half “Legally Blonde” half “Devil Wears Pravda” comedy and how it feels  to be the future Mrs Borat.
