CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Adds Martin Freeman

‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Sherlock’ star Martin Freeman has become the latest addition to the ever growing cast of Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War,’ scoring an unspecified role.

“From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in ‘The Office,’ Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us,” said ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Producer Kevin Feige. “We couldn’t be more honoured or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’ takes places after the events of ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron,’ with the collective governments of the world passing an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the highly anticipated film with Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr. reprising their roles as Captain America and Iron Man, respectively. The film marks the first appearance of Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. Also along for the ride will Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and the new, as-yet-uncast Spider-man.
