Has Tony Scott finally decided on his next directorial effort? It appears so, as it is being reported that the ‘Unstoppable’ and ‘Man on Fire’ director is close to making the action film ‘Lucky Strike’ his next.
With a screenplay by Henry Bean (‘The Believer,’ ‘Internal Affairs’), the action flick follows a DEA agent and a drugs runner who team up to take down a drug cartel.
According to Deadline, Vince Vaughn (‘Neighborhood Watch,’ ‘Wedding Crashers’) is being eyed for a role, with the $80 million film possibly shooting in late summer. There is no word on what role Vaughn will be taking.
Scott has a number of projects on the burner at the moment, including a remake of ‘The Wild Bunch,’ a sequel to ‘Top Gun,’ the submarine thriller ‘Naco Sub,’ and his long-in-development biker drama ‘Hell Angels.’ We shall have to wait and see what the filmmaker chooses as his follow-up to ‘Unstoppable.’
