Marcus Nispel (‘Conan the Barbarian’) has been tapped to direct the feature film adaptation of action-horror comic ‘Hack/Slash,’ reports Heat Vision.
Based on the Image Comics title created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli, ‘Hack/Slash’ chronicles the adventures of Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliché of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. In this case, the girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Along with her hulking protector, Vlad, Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger.
In the past, numerous actresses, including Megan Fox (‘Jennifer’s Body’), Kat Dennings (‘Thor’) and Allison Scagliotti (‘Warehouse 13’) had been rumoured for the coveted role of Hack.
Nispel replaces Fredrik Bond, who was previously attached to direct. Along with last year’s ‘Conan the Barbarian’ reboot, Nispel’s credits include ‘Pathfinder,’ and the remakes of ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ and ‘Friday the 13th.’
