Bay’s low-budget project lines up two more.

Latino Review has word that the amazing John Turturro is circling a role in Michael Bay’s long-gestating bodybuilding heist dramedy ‘Pain and Gain.’

Based on a three part Miami New Times article by Pete Collins, the film tells the story of Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg) and Adrain Doorbal (Dwayne Johnson), two Floridian bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida.

Turturro is reportedly up for the role of Miami businessman Marc Schiller, the man kidnapped, tortured, and left for dead by Lugo and Doorbal. Surviving his ordeal, Schiller wanted to get even and hired private investigator Ed Dubois (Ed Harris) to track down the meatheads.

Another addition to the cast will be Rob Corddry. Variety reports that ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’ actor is in talks to join the film in the role of John Mese, a “former competitive bodybuilder who now owns the gym where Wahlberg's character works as a personal trainer. His past as an accountant and notary makes him a valuable though unwilling member of Wahlberg's scheme.”

Bay is expected to begin shooting in early spring, working from a screenplay by ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
