One of Ireland's finest actors died today at the age of 82

One of Ireland's best loved actors, and certainly one of the finest we ever had the pleasure to interview, David Kelly has died after a short illness.

Amongst his many acting roles, he'll be remembered for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fawlty Towers, Stardust, Waking Ned and as 'Rashers' Tierney in Strumpet City. He is survived by his wife, Laurie, his son David and daughter Miriam.

    Strangely enough, it's his performance in "The Laws of Attraction" that I remember the most, after seeing it on an Aer Lingus flight once, he has an ecclesiastical demeanour.
