Actress boards Somali pirate drama.

Variety reports that Catherine Keener (‘The Oranges,’ ‘Cyrus’) is set to play Tom Hanks' wife in the Paul Greengrass-directed Somali pirate drama ‘Captain Phillips.’

Penned by Billy Ray and based on a true story, the drama stars Hanks as merchant-vessel skipper Richard Phillips. The captain famously allowed himself to be taken hostage by Somali pirates in 2009 in order to guarantee the safety of his crew. He spent three days in captivity before being freed in a daring rescue by U.S. Navy SEALS.

Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Scott Rudin, and Michael De Luca (‘The Social Network’) are producing.

Love her, and Hanks is brilliant so definitely interested in this. The title is a bit shit though.
