Hollywood planning remake of the political drama.

Identity Films and Flat Penny Films have announced that they are teaming for a remake of Frank Capra’s 1948 political drama, ‘State of the Union.’

Based on Pulitzer Prize winning play by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, the drama follows an American entrepreneur who decides to run for President but can’t win without the help of his brilliant but estranged wife.

The original adaptation starred Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn and Angela Lansbury. Anthony Mastromauro will produce for Identity, while Amy Lanier is producing for Flat Penny.
