Now’s your chance with Movie Extras… Irish based movie extras website, MovieExtras.ie, are to hold an open casting session in Dublin on the 17th and 18th of July. The agency which provides extras for film and TV in Ireland are inviting people of all ages, looks and sizes to attend. MovieExtras.ie is one of Ireland’s leading agencies providing extras to the film, television and advertising industries. They have worked on big name TV productions such as The Tudors and their latest film Leap Year starred well-known actors Amy Adams and Bill Nighy. Recent advertising clients have included Guinness and the O2 arena. “In the last year alone MovieExtras.ie has helped generate over 1 million euro for its members. The film and TV industry is thriving at the moment and creating a huge demand for extras. Users pay a subscription fee to enter their database which is then scouted by production companies and advertisers looking for extras. Yearly membership costs €99 and a special family package is €299 (for up to 6 members). Once someone has joined up, 400 companies and casting directors have access to their profile and can contact them for work as an extra, model, actor or for promotional work. The next casting weekend takes place in The Westbury Hotel, off Grafton Street on the 17th and 18th of July.
