Todd Phillips comedy brings in €1.48 Million in one weekend

The Hangover Part II, director Todd Phillips' follow-up to his 2009 smash hit The Hangover, woke up to a massive opening weekend of €1.48 Million, marking the biggest opening weekend of 2011. The announcement was made today by Josh Berger, President and Managing Director Warner Bros Entertainment UK and Ireland.

"Given the success of the first film, we knew it would have a huge audience, but these incredible results exceeded our expectations," said Berger. "Todd Phillips and his cast have delivered another comedy home run."

I find this surprising and a bit unlikely? Was eveyone not watching football or at Slane on Saturday evening?

I went to see it the night of release, whenever that was. Wednesday? But cinema was only half full really.

Dont find this too suprising given all the hype around it
