Another comedy I wonder was it any good ?

Cedar Rapids is perfectly fine as a film but I'm of the opinion that the surprise film really should be something of the awesome popcorn type as it'll create more buzz and excitement. Cedar Rapids would be more of the general festival programming.

I was there also. It was actually great. Once I heard Ed Helms voiceover at the very start I knew what it was and to be honest was a little worried about how people would react. But the film is hilarious and there was great atmosphere in the screening. Everyone seemed to like it so I think it was a big success, certainly better than Greenberg at least.

To be honest the Jameson Dublin Film Festival surprise movie NEVER lives up to the greatness of the IFI Horrorthon surprise film...its like a fact....

I was there yesterday, a great laugh and good surprise

Better than Greenberg, but I'm not disappointed I missed it
would have been if it was Sucker Punch or Battle: LA

"I dont trust people with ponytails!"

I really enjoyed it but it really was an indie comedy
Like Masonica i think that next year to really get the Buzz back into the festival they need to show a big budget popcorn flick

I kinda feel that this years festival just sontered along and mostly went unnoticed

I was at the screening yesterday. Cedar Rapids was a perfectly good comedy with plenty of laugh out loud moments but as a surprise film at the festival I felt it was a let down. There was no WOW factor when the title came up more a HUH What's This. Why not put this on as part of the general festival schedule and hold back maybe The Adjustment Bureau or even Unknown as the surprise film or some other big title film that would really have got people excited

I was there too. Was expecting/hoping for a nice big Battle: La or Sucker Punch but Cedar was a decent flick with a good cast, good story and some very funny moments. John C Reilly is just fantastic in it. Worth a watch.
