New scribe brought in to rework the script.

Marvel Studios has enlisted screenwriter Robert Rodat (‘Saving Private Ryan,’ ‘Falling Skies’) to rewrite ‘Thor 2’ for newly hired director Alan Taylor (‘Game of Thrones’).

Rodat will be reworking the original draft penned by Don Payne (‘Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer,’ ‘My Super Ex-Girlfriend’), who also worked on the first film.

In a recent interview with Empire, Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, revealed that production is scheduled to kick off in the summer in London for release in 2013. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Hiddleston are all set to return.

There are currently no details regarding the plot, and according to Deadline, the story for the sequel changed when Taylor was brought on to replace Patty Jenkins as director.

At least there's a decent scriptwriter doctoring the previous draft. The one by the guy who did the awful Fantastic 4. Portman didn't have much to do except swoon over Thor.

Natalie Portman can do no wrong in my mind, really looking forward to Thor 2.
