Trio set for international spy thriller.

Screen Daily is reporting that Ewan McGregor has been tapped to star in StudioCanal’s upcoming John Le Carre adaptation ‘Our Kind Of Traitor’ with Ralph Fiennes and Mads Mikkelsen in “advanced negotiations” to join him.

McGregor will star as one half of a couple who, while on holiday, bond with a Russian millionaire. What they don’t know is that the charismatic Russian is a big-time money launderer seeking to defect to British intelligence before his Russian criminal brotherhood compatriots have a chance to take him out. Caught up in his plans to defect, the couple is soon positioned between the Russian Mafia and the British Secret Service.

Mikkelsen would be taking the role of the Russian oligarch, while Fiennes would play the UK government fixer Hector Meredith. The female lead has yet to be determined.

Stepping behind the camera for the adaptation will be ‘The Snowtown Murders’ director Justin Kurzel, who’ll be helming from a screenplay by Hossein Amini (‘Drive,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’).

This sounds like it could be a great thriller. Love the cast for it.
