movie news | 28 Mar 2011 | 2 comments

The second of the Snow White movies coming our way lands its Prince Charming.

‘The Social Network’ star, Armie Hammer, has joined the cast of ‘Brothers Grimm: Snow White.’ The actor has landed the coveted role of Prince Andrew Alcott in the Tarsem Singh-directed adaptation.

Hammer joins the previously announced Julia Roberts in the role of the Queen. The role of Snow White is at the moment unconfirmed but Deadline reports Saoirse Ronan is “in discussions” for the title role.

‘Brothers Grimm: Snow White’ will eschew the traditional story in favor of a more modern tale full of comedy and adventure. After her evil stepmother kills her father and destroys the kingdom, Snow White bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarfs to reclaim what is rightly hers.

The movie starts shooting in May and is expected to hit cinemas before Rupert Sanders’ ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

He was great in The Social Network and if Ronan joins then this will have an amazing cast. I know people dislike Kristen Stewart a lot but I think she is a really good actress who has been negatively effected by a load of very poor scripts for the Twilight films which I doubt anyone would've been able to pull off.
