Morgan Freeman Joins Cast of Wally Pfister

The man with the calming voice boards the mystery film.

It has been announced that Morgan Freeman is near to finalising a deal to join Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall and Kate Mara on the cast of Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister’s directorial debut ‘Transcendence.’

While official plot details have yet to be revealed, the Jack Paglen-penned screenplay is rumoured to follow two leading computer scientists who work toward their goal of Technological Singularity, as “a radical anti-technology organization fights to prevent them from creating a world where computers can transcend the abilities of the human brain.”

Principal photography is set to begin next month in Los Angeles with Alcon Entertainment financing and producing. Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Aaron Ryder are board to serve as executive producers.

Freeman is currently in cinemas starring alongside Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko in ‘Oblivion.’ He follows the Joseph Kosinski-directed sci-fi with Antoine Fuqua’s actioner ‘Olympus Has Fallen,’ and ‘Now You See Me’ which also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, and Michael Caine.
