Michelle Williams Takes the Role of Glinda in OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

Casting for the coven of witches is now complete.

Last month it was rumoured that director Sam Raimi and Disney were at odds over the casting of Glinda, the good witch, for ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful,’ with Raimi looking to cast Oscar winner Hilary Swank in the role, while Disney wanted Oscar nominee Michelle Williams (‘Blue Valentine’).

Well it appears that Disney have won that fight, because Variety is reporting that Williams is now in talks to take the role of Glinda in Raimi’s prequel to 1939’s ‘The Wizard of Oz.’

The actress joins a cast that includes James Franco as the titular Oz, Mila Kunis as Theodora, and the recently announced Rachel Weisz as Evanora.
