Clemence Poesy and Gillian Anderson will co-star.

Michael Caine is attached to star in the comedic melodrama ‘Mr. Morgan’s Last Love’ for German writer/director Sandra Nettlebeck ‘Helen,’ ‘Mostly Martha’).

Adapted from the novel ‘La Douceur Assassine’ by Françoise Dorner, ‘Mr. Morgan’s Last Love’ is the bittersweet story of a retired, lonely American widower whose chance encounter with a free-spirited and vibrantly naive, beautiful young French woman brightens his life. Together they share a precious moment, which not only touches their hearts, but changes their lives.

Clémence Poésy (‘127 Hours,’ ‘In Bruges’), Gillian Anderson (‘The X-Files’), Justin Kirk (‘Weeds,’ ‘Life Happens’), Jane Alexander (‘The Ring,’ ‘The Ciderhouse Rules’) and Anne Alvaro (‘The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,’ ‘The Taste of the Others’) will co-star.

Production kicked off in Paris this week with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment co-financing and co-producing.
