Michael B. Jordan to Play Tom Clancy Hero John Clark

Variety is hearing word that ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Creed’ star Michael B. Jordan has signed on to lead a film series based around the Tom Clancy hero John Clark.

Clancy’s second most famous character after Jack Ryan, Clark, a.k.a. John Terrence Kelly, is an ex-Navy Seal-turned-operations officer for the CIA and would go on to appear in 17 novels starting with 1988’s ‘The Cardinal of the Kremlin.’ Though mainly seen as a secondary character who helps CIA analysis Ryan with more of the physical elements of any mission,

According to trade, Paramount Pictures is planning to adapt 1993’s ‘Without Remorse,’ which tells his backstory on how he came to work for the CIA, followed by an adaptation of ‘Rainbow Six.’

In addition to headlining, Jordan will take a producer’s credit alongside Akiva Goldsma, Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. The studio is out to writers and directors for the project.
