Actress first to sign on for the reboot. It appears that Michael Bay and Megan Fox have officially buried the hatchet, as the ‘Transformers’ director has announced, via his blog, that the actress has become the first cast member for Paramount’s live action/CG hybrid reboot of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ on which Bay is producer. Confirming Fox’s involvement with ‘Ninja Turtles,’ Variety says that Fox will be taking the female lead, that of April O’Neil, the human friend of the pizza-loving turtles – Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael. The actress reportedly beat out the likes of Jane Levy, Anna Kendrick and Elizabeth Olsen for the role. Casting is now underway find unknown actors to play the heroes in a half shell through motion-capture. ‘Ninja Turtles’ will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman (‘Wrath of the Titans,’ ‘Battle: Los Angeles’) from a screenplay by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Bay is producing the reboot with Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. An April production start date is slated.
