Variety reports that director/producer McG (‘Terminator Salvation,’ ‘This Means War,’ ‘Charlie’s Angles’) is to team up with Red Crown Productions to develop an adaptation of Gitty Danveshari’s book series ‘School of Fear.’
The first in Danveshari’s trilogy of books was released in 2010, and follows Madeleine, Theodore, Lulu and Garrison, four twelve year-old children who are sent to the highly elusive and exclusive School of Fear to help them overcome their phobias. But when their peculiar teacher, Mrs. Wellington, and her unconventional teaching methods turn out to be more frightening than even their fears, the foursome realize that this just may be the scariest summer of their lives.
McG is attached to produce but is said to be eyeing the project as a potential directing vehicle. His Wonderland Sound and Vision partners Mary Viola and Scott Fischer will also produce along with Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Daniel Crown and Riva Marker of Red Crown Productions.
Daniel Mackey is on board to pen the adaptation. The scribe previously worked on the second season of the webseries ‘Aim High,’ which was produced by McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision.
