Matt Reeves Set for Third PLANET OF THE APES Movie

Helmer returning for third film…

Multiple outlets are reporting that Matt Reeves (‘Let Me In,’ ‘Cloverfield’) has put pen to paper and closed a deal to return to the director’s chair for a third outing of 20th Century Fox’s ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise.

Reeves’ first foray into the rebooted franchise, ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,’ is set to bow this July. The ‘Cloverfield’ and ‘Let Me In’ helmer will co-write the third film alongside Mark Bomback, who also scripted ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.’

According to Deadline, the deal comes right after the studio and producers Chernin Entertainment began screening an early cut of ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.’ It is likely that Reeves will go right into working on the third outing, which is now a priority for the studio.
