MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Reboot Lands Director

Writer/director David S. Goyer (‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ Blade: Trinity,’ The Unborn’) has become the latest filmmaker to be linked to ‘Masters of the Universe,’ the long-in-the-works reboot of the ‘He-Man’ franchise.

Based on the famous Mattel toy line/animated series, the story follows Adam, prince of Eternia, who has the ability to transform into the heroic warrior He-Man. As He-Man, he fights against the evil forces of Skeletor to save the planet and to protect the secrets of Castle Grayskull.

Masters of the Universe’ was previously brought to the big screen in 1987 with the live-action film starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.

The reboot is set up over at Sony Pictures with Todd Black, Steve Tisch and Jason Blumenthal of Escape Artists producing alongside DeVon Franklin. Mattel executives Julia Pistor and David Voss will co-produce on behalf of the company. According to TheWrap, the film is set for release December, 2019.
