German actor cast in villain role…

Multiple outlets are reporting that Thomas Kretschmann (‘Dracula,’ ‘King Kong,’ ‘Wanted’) has been cast as one of the villains in Joss Whedon’s highly anticipated sequel ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’

TheWrap has the German actor playing the villainous Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, a former Nazi officer working for HYDRA who runs up against both Captain America and Nick Fury. Like most Marvel Studios contracts, Kretschmann’s deal is for multiple movies.

He joins a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and newcomers James Spader as the sequel’s main villain, Ultron; Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch,and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will play Scarlet’s twin brother, Quicksilver.

‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is expected to arrive in cinemas May 2015.
