Wahlberg eyeing graphic novel adaptation
Deadline reports that Mark Wahlberg is currently in negotiations for the action comedy ‘2 Guns.’
Adapted from Steven Grant’s Boom! Studios graphic novel of the same name, the screenplay was written by Blake Masters and follows “a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who unwittingly investigate each other as each steals mob money.” The project aims to be a throwback to the ’80s buddy cop movies in the vein of ‘Lethal Weapon’ and ‘48 HRS.’
David O Russell was recently attached to direct with Vince Vaughn set to take one of the leads, but both have moved on.
