Classic literary characters set for supernatural feature.
THR reports that Paramount Pictures has acquired the Andy Burg spec script ‘Huck and Tom,’ a reinvention of Mark Twain’s characters Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.
While the storyline is being kept under wraps, the project is being described as a re-imagining in the vein of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman.’ The film will apparently focus on an adult Sawyer and Finn, with a story featuring “supernatural elements.”
Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark (‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’) are on board as producers, along with screenwriter Matt Lopez (‘d The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’).
