MANIMAL Movie in Development

Campy cult series heading to the big screen.

Heat Vision has received word that Sony Pictures Animation has acquired the big screen rights to the short-lived television series ‘Manimal’ with plans to develop the property as a a live action/CG hybrid feature.

Created by TV producer Glen A. Larson (‘Magnum,’ ‘Knight Rider,’ ‘Battlestar Galactica’), the series, which only ran for eight episodes, starred Simon McCorkindale as Dr. Jonathan Chase, a wealthy doctor with a mysterious past, possessed the ability to morph into any animal he chose in order to help the police fight crime. ‘Flash Gordon’ actress Melody Anderson co-starred.

The studio is now out to scribes to tackle the project.
