Maggie Gyllenhaal to Join Channing Tatum for WHITE HOUSE DOWN

Action thriller adds Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Just yesterday we learned that Jamie Foxx (‘Django Unchained’) was circling a key role in the action thriller ‘White House Down,’ now word has emerged that Maggie Gyllenhaal (‘Hysteria,’ ‘The Dark Knight’) has entered talks for the female lead.

With Roland Emmerich directing from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, the film finds the White House under siege by a paramilitary group that holds everyone inside hostage. Channing Tatum (‘Magic Mike’) is leading the cast, playing a Secret Service agent who leaps into action to save the President (Foxx).

According to Variety, Gyllenhaal would be taking the role of a patriotic Secret Service agent on the president’s detail.

‘White House Down’ will be produced by Vanderbilt and partners Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis via their Mythology Entertainment banner. Emmerich and Harald Kloser will also produce, with Tatum’s Iron Horse Entertainment partner, Reid Carolin, serving as an executive producer.
