Maggie Gyllenhaal Joining Lenny Abrahamson’s FRANK

‘What Richard Did’ director casts Gyllenhaal for his comedy.

It has been announced, via The Film Stage, that Maggie Gyllenhaal is set to join Michael Fassbender (‘12 Years a Slave, ‘Shame’) and Domhnall Gleeson (‘Anna Karenina,’ ‘Dredd’) on the cast of Lenny Abrahamson’s next, ‘Frank.’

Scripted by Jon Ronson (‘The Men Who Stare at Goats’) and Peter Straughan (‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’), the film is a comedy about a young wannabe musician, Jon (Gleeson), who discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Fassbender).

Also taking a role in the film will be Scoot McNairy (‘Argo,’ ‘Killing Them Softly’).

Filming on the project is expected to kick off in the coming weeks in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
