Mad Max returns in anime reform, according to George Miller.
George Miller is reportedly planning a 3D anime pic based on the apocalyptic character Mad Max.
Speaking to MTV, Miller said “The anime is an opportunity for me to shift a little bit about what anime is doing because anime is ripe for an adjustment or sea change.”
“It’s coming in games and I believe it’s the same in anime. There’s going to be a hybrid anime where it shifts more towards Western sensibilities. Kurosawa was able to bridge that gap between the Japanese sensibilities and the West and make those definitive films.”
The plot, meanwhile, looks to be lifted from Miller’s abortive attempt to get a fourth Max film running in 2003 before the money collapsed.
Mel Gibson is not expected to return for the project with Miller explainging they are probably going a different route.
