Luke Evans Offered Villain Role in FAST & FURIOUS 6

Evans to replace Statham as antagonist.

TwitchFilm is reporting that Luke Evans (‘The Hobbit,’ ‘The Raven,’ ‘Immortals’) has been offered the villain role in the sixth installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise. Fellow Brit Jason Statham was previously tipped for the role but a deal could not be reached.

If Evans signs up for the action franchise he will be joining Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Gina Carano and the recently confirmed Michelle Rodriguez. There are unconfirmed reports that Rihanna, who recently made her acting debut in Peter Berg’s ‘Battleship,’ is up for a smaller villainous role.

‘Fast and Furious 6’ is scheduled to kick off production in June in and around Europe with Justin Lin directing.
