LONDON HAS FALLEN Eyes Babak Najafi For Director's Chair

Najafi latest linked to action sequel…

Deadline reports that Scandinavian filmmaker Babak Najafi (‘Banshee,’ ‘Easy Money II: Hard to Kill’) is in talks to take the director’s chair for the Gerard Butler-led actioner ‘London Has Fallen.’

The sequel to Antoine Fuqua’s ‘Olympus Has Fallen,’ the film focuses on a plot to strike the English capital “during the funeral of the British Prime Minister. Only the President Of The United States, his Secret Service head (Butler) and an English MI6 agent can save the day.”

‘Charlie Countryman’ helmer Fredrik Bond came on board last month but quit the project last week following “creative differences.”

Principal photography is set to kick off in the coming week with Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Melissa Leo, and Radha Mitchell also reprising their roles.
