Linklater May Take A WALK IN THE WOODS with Redford and Nolte

New helmer linked to the comedic tale.

According to a report over at The LA Times, Richard Linklater (‘Before Midnight,’ ‘Bernie,’ ‘Dazed and Confused’) is in talks to step behind the camera for an adaptation of Bill Bryson’s travel memoir ‘A Walk in the Woods.’

Long-in-development, the film has Robert Redford on board to play Bryson, who on returning home after twenty years in England, decides to walk the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail with his childhood friend Stephen Katz (played by Nick Nolte). Along the way, the friends make sly observations about the world around them and their own lives.

Chris Columbus (‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief’) and Barry Levinson (‘The Bay’) were previously linked to the director’s chair.
