LIFE OF PI Star Suraj Sharma Has MILLION DOLLAR ARM

John Hamm toplined drama adds two more.

Indian actor Suraj Sharma, best known his breakout performance in Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi,’ has been cast alongside John Hamm for the Craig Gillespie-directed baseball drama ‘Million Dollar Arm.’

With a script by Thomas McCarthy (‘Win Win,’ ‘The Visitor,’ ‘The Station Agent’), ‘Million Dollar Arm’ is based on the true story of sports agent J.B. Bernstein, who discovered professional pitchers Dinesh Patel and Rinku Singh through a reality show he staged in India by auditioning 40,000 cricket players.

Sharma is set to play one of the two pitchers, although it is currently unclear which one. TheWrap also reports that Alan Arkin (‘Argo,’ ‘Stand-Up Guys’) is also onboard to play a retired baseball scout.

Production on the drama is set to kick off in May in India with Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray of Mayhem Pictures producing with Joe Roth. Palak Patel is executive producing.
