Leonard Nimoy retires

Spock announces retirement from acting

Leonard Nimoy has confirmed that he is permanently retiring from acting.

The Star Trek actor revealed that he will give up working in TV and movies following his final appearance on Fox’s Fringe.

“I’ve been doing this professionally for 60 years. I love the idea of going out on a positive note. I’ve had a great, great time,” the 79-year-old explained.

Nimoy added that he will not appear in any future Star Trek sequel. The actor said that he’s leaving the role of Spock to Zachary Quinto:

“He’s a terrific actor, he looks the part, and it’s time to give him some space,” Nimoy added.

“And I’m very flattered the character will continue.”
