Acclaimed Irish filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson (‘Room,’ ‘What Richard Did,’ Frank’) is attached to direct the historical drama ‘The Grand Escape.’
Per THR, the film is based on Neal Bascomb’s upcoming novel telling the true story of three daredevil World War I pilots being held in Germany’s most infamous POW prison. The story chronicles WWI’s greatest mass prison escape and the pilots’ subsequent flight to freedom.
Abrahamson’s regular collaborator, Ed Guiney of Element Pictures, is on board to produce alongside Film4.
