Wiseman and Zak Penn open ‘Black Chapter’
Len Wiseman (‘Total Recall,’ ‘ Live Free or Die Hard,’ ‘Underworld’) has signed on to take the helm of Skydance Productions’ paranormal sci-fi thriller ‘Black Chapter.’
Featuring a script by Zak Penn, the film follows an FBI agent drawn into a classified military program that trains its operatives to use paranormal abilities.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the mysteries surrounding the CIA’s astral projection program during its MK-ULTRA era,” Wiseman said. “What if those experiments had actually worked? Would we even know?”
David Ellison and Dana Goldberg will produce for Skydance Productions, with Wiseman producing through his Sketch Films banner. Paul Schwake and David Bernardi are serving as executive producers.
“Len and Zak have created a truly original piece of science fiction that reimagines the spy genre set in the world of the supernatural,” said Ellison in a statement. “This is exactly the type of original storytelling that we want to produce.”
