Larry Charles-Directed Comedy PIERRE PIERRE Starring Jim Carrey Gets Back on Track

Long-gesting comedy secures financing.

Back in 2010 we reported that Jim Carrey was set to team up with ‘Borat’ and ‘Bruno’ director Larry Charles for a new comedy titled ‘Pierre Pierre.’ The project seemed to sink into development hell, with little being heard since the casting of Carrey.

Now Screen Daily is reporting that the $30million comedy is back on track after securing financial backing, and is set for production in Europe this summer, with most of the shoot taking place in Germany.

‘Pierre Pierre’ stars Carrey as a self-indulgent French nihilist who steals the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in the hope of selling it so he can finally move out of his parents’ house.

The Black List script was penned by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton.
