‘Sorry To Bother You’ and ‘Get Out’ star Lakeith Stanfield has been tapped to take the lead role in an adaptation of Ron Wimberly’s graphic novel ‘Prince of Cats,’ Deadline has learned.

Described as an ‘80s hip-hop retelling of Shakespeare’s timeless classic Romeo & Juliet, the graphic novel is tells the story from the perspective of Juliet’s short-tempered first cousin, and Romeo’s rival Tybalt, as he and his Capulet crew navigate a violent Brooklyn where underground sword duelling with the Montagues blossoms alongside a vibrant music scene.

Selwyn Seyfu Hinds, former editor-in-chief of The Source Magazine, will provide the script, with Janet and Kate Zucker of Zucker Productions producing.
