Kirsten Dunst has joined the cast of Derick Martini’s coming-of-age drama Hick.
Adapted by Andrea Portes from her own novel, Hick follows Luli, a girl who strikes out on the road when her neglectful parents finally abandon her. Along the way, she encounters Glenda (Dunst) a hard-living grifter who takes Luli under her wing and tries to shield her from some of the harder aspects of life.
Colin Farrell was reportedly interested in snagging the male role, however has since pulled out due to scheduling conflict.
Martini is now looking for a new male lead and is planning to film early next year in New Mexico.
