King Kong gets a Sequel

Kong: King of Skull Island in the works

Spirit Pictures is planning a prequel to King Kong, according to Variety.

The producers have picked up the rights to the book Kong: King of Skull Island (written by Joe DeVito and Brad Strickland, and published in 2004), which revolves around the back-story of the big ape’s home and how he became king there.

The studio envisage the picture as a motion-capture film, similar to Beowulf and The Polar Express, and is now looking for directors.
