Johnny Depp To Headline Comedy-Drama RICHARD SAYS GOODBYE

Wayne Roberts (‘Katie Says Goodbye’) is set to take the helm for ‘Richard Says Goodbye,’ a comedy-drama that has Johnny Depp attached to star, reports Deadline.

Featuring a script by Roberts, the story sees Depp playing the titular Richard, a world-weary college professor who is given a life-changing diagnosis and then decides to throw all pretence and conventions to the wind and live his life as boldly and freely as possible. With a biting sense of humor, a reckless streak and a touch of madness, he binges through every vice: smoking, drinking, sex, and hurling blunt insults at anyone who annoys him, giving him more pleasure than he’s had in years.

Producers on the project include Stuart Ford’s IM Global, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (‘Loving’) and his Automatik Entertainment banner. Greg Shapiro (‘The Hurt Locker,’ ‘Zero Dark Thirty’) will co-produce.

Depp will next be seen reprising his iconic role as Captain Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge’ when it arrives in Irish cinemas May 25th.
